Just wanted to say how I think how cool the new look of gomanga.com is!

Maybe when you get more titles, you can put little arrows on the side of the preview section using Flash or something Smile

lol, can't wait for Aoi House as well Mr. Green . It looks like its going to be great!

Glad you're diggin' the new layout for the main page. It'll change up slightly whenever we add new installments of the titles. So, you'll always know when something new is up.

Arrows on the side using flash? Not sure what you mean, but we prefer not having to use flash as we want the site to be viable to everyone in all browsers. Plus, if it can be done in php or css, then we prefer to do it that way. Less mess. ^_-

And yes, Aoi House is going to be soooo awesome!

I meant when you have more previews of more titles, instead of cluttering up the page by making it wider or have more rows, you could put in something that scrolls through the titles. I'd find an example, but I'm too lazy Neutral

The Aoi House girls look so different! Don't skimp on the shennanigans!

lol, I want to read it more because I just got Genshiken today Anime Sweat.

Still no sign of any of the titles at my local bookstore. I guess I'm gonna have to buy online. Not the best of times for money in the Insectice household though - we need a new car, and they're only giving us half the money to do buy it Sad .

Will you eventually release your manga titles in "waves" (that is, all at once in a month or so) or kind of stuttered, like a new title every two months? I was wondering if there were like "seasons" for manga, like there are for movies.

Oh, we know what we'll do when we have a whole mess of titles. It'll be cool, but we gotta have, like, way more titles for it to work right.

You know, I started working on Aoi House way before I had even heard of Genshiken. I still haven't read or watched it. I probably won't for a long while, because I absolutely hate having another work influence me. I'm like that when I do English Adaptation work. I might watch the first episode of the anime to get the tone of the Japanese voices in my head, but after that I refuses to watch it anymore until I'm finished with the entire series. Trust me, Aoi House is more of a fandom/harem comedy hybrid. So, expect toooooons of crazyness! It's more structured, but it's still totally off-the-wall.

As for release schedules, I believe the long term goal is to have a listing in Diamond every month.

Any other questions or comments?

it's going to take a while for me to get used to the new layout, but i think it's fine. but the updates for the webmanga are harder for me to notice since the updates for them are no longer at the right side. (it's the first thing i look at when i come on gomanga)

Well, just think of it this way...

The webmanga images change whenever those get updated (and the dates below them change). Since they get updated every M/W/F, that also makes it easy to remember.

The Changes to the website are good - but there is always room for nitpicking. I suppose it's more then just the index page...

Error: http://gomanga.com/webmanga/

I don't exist: http://gomanga.com/manga/

Also, how are your mod_rewrite skills? stuff like http://gomanga.com/webmanga/index.php?series=unearthly can become http://gomanga.com/webmanga/unearthly/ really easily. And it looks so nice, too...

And so much easier to index for those nice search engines...

And thank you for not using Macromedia Flash. Thankyouthankyouthankyou Star

And while I'm at it, I understand keeping the viewer at a relatively low resolution... *looks at code* oh... Ok, you can't specify height and width by that technique... but you should be able to have the webmanga be crudely resizeable. I know php has the extensions for determine the height and width of an image...

*shuts up*

That page, like the manga viewer, isn't meant to be linked directly. If you go there directly, you won't get anything. That's not really a bug.

Any of the other directories you listed that don't have index files have had redirectors placed in them.

We do, however, have a revised webmanga layout in the works.

Nah, we we're aiming for it to be resizeable when we made it. We meant for it to be viewable at 800x600 and stay the same in every browser. This meant we resized the images and saved them specifically one way for three reasons:
1.) keep file sizes down.
2.) conserve bandwidth.
3.) the ability to maintane image watermarks.

Why use clunky flash when you can build it just as easily in php? Heck, Del Rey even took our lead with the PHP manga viewer and based theirs off of ours. So, it's really nice.
