Fruit Cake Fantasy #2 - "Transition"

Aoi Notes: 05/10/2006

Have you been keeping up with all the awesome stuff coming out of E3? PlayStation 3...Nintendo's Wii...all those games. It's just one of those really great times to be a gamer, because you can start dreaming of all the awesome stuff you'll be playing in just a few months time.

One thing that I really enjoy about E3, or rather the coverage of E3, is how you can download and watch the press conferences for Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft. I've been watching uploaded or streaming versions of those conferences since 2004 when Reggie of Nintendo did his whole, "My name is Reggie and I'm about kicking ass and taking names." How can you not watch a press conference after that?

But it's really the games that matter and what really impressed me so far is Final Fantasy XIII...it just looks amazing. Not sure about the whole cell phone prequel and Versus game, but we'll see.

To be honest, it's almost information overload at this point...and the show's only just getting underway. Bound to be a ton of other cool games to make me drool. I still need to surf through all the Nintendo stuff and check out all the Zelda news, but I'm sure I'm going to be floored by that. Can't wait.

So, what's new in the world of Aoi House? Well, we got our proofs back from the printer for Vol. 1 and have been working like crazy to fix some toning issues and tweak the cover to stand out more. It has pushed our print date back, so the book will be hitting the direct market (comic shops) a week later on May 31st. Yeah, I wanted it sooner...but holding it and fixing any problems now will end up making the book truly a winner. So, that's always a good thing.

And somewhere between juggling Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh Vol. 1, Destiny's Hand Vol. 1, and fixing Aoi House Vol. 1...I managed to get some more of Aoi House Vol. 2's script written. I'm down to only one last chapter to write for the second volume and some scattered polishing for the other chapters, but I very well might just meet my goal of having the book written before May is up. ^_^

Well, that's about it for today. I'm glad to see everyone is getting a kick out of "Fruit Cake Fantasy," so be sure to be here for Friday when...oh, you'll find out soon enough. Later!
